BEFORE YOUR PICO WAY APPOINTMENT

​

To achieve the safest treatment and best results:

• Avoid tanning, sun exposure, spray tans, and self-tanners for at least 2 weeks before treatment.
• Arrive with clean brows free of makeup, sunscreen, lotions, oils, or brow products.
• Avoid chemical peels, microneedling, aggressive facials, and laser treatments in the area for 2 weeks prior.
• Inform your provider of any recent cosmetic procedures, medications, skin conditions, or history of pigmentation changes.
• Stay hydrated and maintain a healthy skincare routine before treatment.
• Avoid plucking, waxing, or threading immediately before your appointment.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING TREATMENT

​

The Candela PicoWay® delivers ultra-short picosecond pulses of energy designed to shatter tattoo pigment into tiny particles that can be naturally cleared by your body's immune system.

During treatment, you may notice:

• Temporary whitening ("frosting")
• Mild redness
• Mild swelling
• Slight warmth or tenderness

Most treatments are completed in just a few minutes.

AFTER YOUR PICO WAY TREATMENT

​

For the first 24-48 hours:

• Keep the area clean and dry.
• Avoid excessive heat, sweating, saunas, hot tubs, and swimming pools.
• Do not rub, scratch, pick, or exfoliate the treated area.
• Avoid applying makeup directly over irritated skin.

For 2 weeks after treatment:

• Avoid direct sun exposure whenever possible.
• Use SPF 30+ sunscreen once the skin has healed.
• Avoid retinoids, glycolic acids, exfoliants, and aggressive skincare products in the area.
• Avoid additional brow procedures until healing is complete.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Brow tattoo removal is a process, not a single treatment.

As pigment breaks down, you may notice:

• Gradual fading over several weeks
• Uneven fading during the removal process
• Temporary color shifts such as gray, blue, red, orange, yellow, or pink
• Continued improvement long after your appointment

Many clients are surprised that significant fading often continues for 8-10 weeks after treatment as the body naturally clears fragmented pigment.

RECOMMENDED TREATMENT INTERVAL

For best results with Candela PicoWay®:

✔ Wait 5-6 weeks between treatments, in some cases 8-10 weeks

This allows:

• Maximum pigment clearance
• Proper skin recovery
• Reduced risk of unwanted pigmentation changes
• More accurate assessment of progress

Additional treatments performed too soon may not improve results and can increase unnecessary irritation.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
